Web Design Magic at CeBIT

Record numbers of pre-qualified business visitors, a revamped exhibition floor design and an ambitious conference program has stamped CeBIT Australia 2007 as the most successful in the event’s six-year history.

Web Design Magic was one of the Queensland ICT Exhibitors in conjunction with Queensland.NET. Queensland.NET is an ICT Industry cluster initiated by a number of industry stakeholders and supported by the State Government of Queensland, Microsoft and other local stakeholders. Our aim is to bring together Queensland Software organisations to engage in co-operative activities, achieve collective competitiveness and develop new .NET platform opportunities for the Queensland software Industry as a whole.

“One of the most interesting trade shows this year” commented Daren Hawes, CEO of Web Design Magic. “I would not hesitate in exhibiting on the 2008 round” he also added.

The Web Design Magic team was also able to catch up with Channel 7 Sunrise’s gadget guy Peter Blasina. “Peter has been involved with WebCentral and some of our marketing videos, it was good to catch up and discuss the conference” Daren Hawes said.

Visitor numbers to CeBIT Australia 2007 were up 10 per cent to 33,041, despite an overhauled registration process designed to attract only high quality business attendees, while actively discouraging non-business visitors.

Exhibitor numbers ballooned to 733, and a record number of international delegates attended the event. “The level of attendance at CeBIT this year was excellent, but what we’re really excited about is the quality of the business visitors that came through the doors,” said Jackie Taranto, Managing Director of Hannover Fairs Australia, the organisers of CeBIT Australia.

“We invested heavily after the 2006 event to bring a sharper business focus to CeBIT this year,” Ms Taranto said. “We re-organised the show floor into 25 vertical industry markets and introduced five specialist conferences to the program. And we put an enormous amount of effort into our targeted e-marketing campaigns to attract business people from all sectors.”
