Web Design Magic was recently invited to become a Certified Training Organisation for Kentico CMS and has just returned from a week long training session in Prague, Czech Republic. “This is a great opportunity for the company and we are now able to pass on our expert knowledge through training for businesses using Kentico CMS, our existing customers and other businesses interested in a great website solution.” says Web Design Magic CEO, Daren Hawes.

Kentico CMS is a content management system (CMS) for building web sites, on-line stores, intranets and Web 2.0 community sites. Kentico is being used by more than 4000 Web sites in 74 countries and utilizes the ASP.NET and Microsoft SQL Server. In 2008, it was named the fastest growing young technology company in the Deloitte FAST 50 Rising Stars contest with a three-year growth of 553%.

Once we found Kentico it was an easy decision for us to make it one of our Web Design Magic core products and we quickly became a Gold Partner Reseller in March 2010. “We researched CMS systems like Drupal, DotNetNuke and Joomla, but we just did not see the same potential as what we saw in Kentico. We found these other tools to be targeted to smaller organisations with simple needs and with little to no budget considerations. This is simply not our target market. We are able to deliver our CMS solution for way under $10k so it is very competitive and inviting for SME and corporate customers who require a commercial product with commercial support.”, explained Daren.

The CTO training in Prague not only gave us the tools necessary for training ourselves, but it also proved to be an invaluable networking opportunity as we were sharing skills and industry knowledge with developers from all over Europe, NZ and Dubai. All this in one of the most beautiful cities in the world!”

Web Design Magic intend to commence group training schedules from July 2010, however individual or business training is available now. There are two types of training available:

1. Content Administrator Training – This training will instruct users with little or limited website experience on how to use Kentico CMS 5 to author and publish content and will ensure CMS users learn how to perform their typical day-to-day tasks around managing content, security, workflow and advanced editorial tasks in the delivery of dynamic content to a Web site. Additionally, it focuses on the introductory fundamentals and best practices for using Kentico CMS.
2. Developer Training - focuses on providing website developers with comprehensive training designed to speed deployments, promote best practices and showcase Kentico CMS capabilities. The training will instruct Web developers on the introductory fundamentals and best practices for building, deploying and maintaining applications with Kentico CMS 5. Additionally, it focuses on using a Microsoft Visual 2008 development environment and the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 to create Kentico CMS applications using the Kentico API, web parts, and widgets to deliver dynamic content to a Web site.
