Kentico Releases Version 4.1 of our CMS
Five months ago, Kentico announced plans for version 4.1 of our CMS. And I'm happy to say we were able to deliver it on time, with promised features. The new version comes with some exciting improvements that include:
- Improved full-text search capabilities with new Smart Search engine
- New concept of document attachments
- New, easy-to-use dialogs for uploading and inserting images
- Improvements in multi-lingual content management
- 100% performance growth (up to 16,000 page views per second on a single desktop machine!)
As you can see, we keep our focus on improving the existing features rather than adding many new modules. We realize that Kentico CMS is already a full-featured product that provides the same functionality you get with enterprise-class Web content management solutions that cost ten times more. Instead of adding new modules our competition doesn't have yet, we decided to focus on providing the best user experience, flexibility, stability and scalability for our existing modules. We follow your feedback and implement the features you're missing step-by-step, version-by-version.
If you do not find the feature you need in version 4.1, please be patient. We are already working on version 5.0 that will bring enterprise-class scalability and performance and it will also implement many of the requested improvements. We will publish a detailed plan during September.
