Web Designer (Junior)

The company wants to recruit a bright and conscientious individual who can work in a small, but busy team. You will need to be able to work to realistic deadlines, with the ability to grasp in-house systems quickly, and have the drive and enthusiasm to make an immediate positive impact on the business. You need to be able to work unsupervised, and have an excellent eye for detail, and be articulate and presentable.

Applicants will be responsible for the general maintenance of websites and will answer to the Maintenance Manager.

• liaising closely with a customer, client or the Maintenance Manager to discuss minor changes that are required and document times.
• ensuring that material on the web site is accessible to all groups including those with disabilities;
• testing the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions;

Applicants will need to have a knowledge of graphic design packages such as Fireworks or Photoshop in order to produce basic layout and manipulate images. Skills in cascading style sheets (CSS), e-commerce and server side technologies, such as PHP and ASP, and internet security are also a bonus but not necessary.

Eventually if you wish, you will gain experience and understanding of developing and maintaining dynamic websites using ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, Actionscript and Javascript. You will also have the opportunity to work with our staff who hold the MCSD Microsoft Certification. The Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) for Microsoft .NET credential is the top-level certification for advanced developers who design and develop leading-edge enterprise solutions, using Microsoft development tools and technologies as well as the Microsoft .NET Framework.
