IT/ Systems Administrator
Location: Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia (4220)
This position is a vital role within Web Design Magic. It requires a multi-dimensional individual who is able and experienced in range of IT. You must be comfortable with ambiguity, whilst maintaining a high level of process and protocol driven activities. You will maintain our Data Bases both on site and Hosted, ensuring they are kept working at optimum levels. You will also provide some telephone support to our clients and produce priority lists for the development team for identified problems.
Main Responsibilities -
Systems Administrator
- Management of all network/desktop requests within the system with the business
- On-going administration and development of Web Design Magic’s IT Infrastructure to address changing business requirements.
- Manage the disaster recovery process for all systems including both hardware and software. Manage the security and protection of Web Design Magic’s Infrastructure and IT framework.
- Regularly assess Web Design Magic’s capacity plans for future growth and report on requirements for upgrades and changes to ensure business initiatives are met.
- Produce monthly management reports on usage and reliability statistics.
- Working with management, providing ideas and direction for the future success of the company through a well managed Information Technology system.
Database Administrator
- Maintain our own SQL Server databases to ensure optimum performance
- Maintain client server databases and identify issues where required
- Data migration across platforms
- Fine tune databases, backup and recovery
- Capable of SQL and stored procedures development
Help Desk Support
Answer all initial client assistance calls and identify them in order of priority, categorise them into issues that can be dealt with immediately and those requiring developer time. Includes:
- Dealing with immediate issues
- Keeping a log of issues
- Follow up on the completion of developer issues.

Qualifications and Experience
- IT degree
- 2-5 years’ experience in a software vendor environment
- Knowledge and experience with .net languages mySQL and SQL server technologies
- Preferably some utilities experience in Web Site Design (Development, not graphical)
- Help desk and support experience
- Knowledge of active directory services
- Knowledge of Windows 2003 and 2008 servers.
